“…the quartet playing… across a whole range of dynamics and emotions… challenged my assumptions of the role of this instrument… superb technical and collaboration skills… impressive performance”

Our second concert kicked off on May 19th at the Mosman Art Gallery with a packed house in the large converted chapel.
“… the audience loved, judging by the clapping and cheering. The group came back to play an encore… providing a happy and cheerful ending to an otherwise surreal concert.”

“The balance between the 4… was superb through the whole afternoon, a standout feature for me… Summing up, it was a highly enjoyable, all-too-short, hour of lovely harp making with the energy, commitment and enjoyment of all four players obvious from the start. Bravo to this lovely new group and I for one am really looking forward to whatever they do next.”

“Every note was accounted for, the colours were brilliant. When four players of equal outstanding ability have reached such a high level, they can bring not only the harp but music to life. Bravo.”

“The program showcased the strength of four highly accomplished musicians, a rare combination in what is sure to become a fixture in the chamber music scene both here in Australia and representing our community abroad… The ensemble is highly professional and collegiate, with all the marks of a high performing and synergistic team where the whole is even greater than the sum of the parts… brilliant ensemble between the players.“

The Australian Harp Quartet gave a successful debut recital at the Kirribilli Centre to a completely sold out audience. The program included compositions and transcriptions of works by Adie, Albeniz, Bach, Chopin, Grieg, Kats-Chernin, Khachaturian and Wickey. We were honoured to have some special guests in attendance: Louise Johnson, former Principal Harp of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and Jill Atkinson, Principal Harp of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
